THE PLANT 9 is dedicated to the perfect season to celebrate life and find your paradise just like Brazilian artist Roberto Burle Marx, one of the most inspiring protagonists of this issue.

Tomi Ungerer, the octogenarian artist shows us his beloved piece of land in Ireland’s south west coast in THE PLANT 9. Attentive to the changes that come with each season, Elein Fleiss shares with us her knowledge on herbs while Antoni Arola details his passion for seeds and seed-pods. This is an issue full of flowers brought to you by Brian Kanagaki, Scheltens & Abbesses, Mark Colle and Yoshinori Mizutani who brings to life the park life in London city.

In THE PLANT 9 we experience a world without plants guided by Kuba Ryniewicz, Conrwall’s mighty marine flora and the lush of Jamaica through Mark Borthwick’s eyes. Formafantasma and Ethel Baraona meditate about territories and borders and Mercedes Villalba explores desire paths. Furthermore, we learn about the linen process, how to preserve dandelions into paperweights and the tastiest ice-cream recipes by Kitty Travers.

This issue’s plant monograph is dedicated to the humble yet irresistible geranium, including illustrations by Mélanie Dautreppe-Liermann, Ken Kagami, Jean Jullien, Mrzyk & Moriceau, Tim Lahan and Okamura Yuta.

Besides providing botanical contents in a simple, personal and cozy way, THE PLANT offers to plant lovers a new look on greenery by featuring the work of creative people who also love plants. As a curious observer of ordinary plants and other greenery, the magazine presents a monographic on a specific plant and brings together photographers, illustrators, designers, musicians, writers and visual artists, both established and emerging, from all over the world, to share with The Plant their perceptions and experiences around plants.
